SCHAMMASCH
Schammasch is a Swiss avant-garde black metal band formed in 2009. Known for their expansive, atmospheric soundscapes and philosophical themes, they blend black metal with elements of doom, progressive, and ambient music. The band’s lyrical content often explores spiritual and metaphysical topics, drawing inspiration from esoteric and religious symbolism. Their albums, such as Contradiction (2014) and Triangle (2016), have received critical acclaim for their ambitious scope and genre-defying creativity. Schammasch's music is characterized by its complex compositions, dark atmosphere, and intellectual depth, making them a standout in the extreme metal scene. The band will soon be out with a new release named "The Maldoror Chants: Old Ocean". Make sure to catch them live at Inferno 2025.
CELESTE
Celeste is a French metal band known for their unique fusion of black metal, sludge, and post-hardcore. Formed in 2005, their music is dark, intense, and emotionally charged, blending crushing heaviness with atmospheric elements. Celeste's sound is marked by dissonant riffs, pounding rhythms, and tortured, aggressive vocals, creating a suffocating and immersive experience. Their albums, such as Morte(s) Née(s) (2010) and Infidèle(s) (2017), showcase their ability to convey bleakness and despair through a blend of raw aggression and melancholic beauty. They will play at Inferno for the very first time.
NATTVERD
Nattverd is a Norwegian black metal band initially formed in the 1990s but officially launched in 2014. After releasing their debut album Vi Vet Gud Er En Løgner in 2017, the band established a core lineup featuring Ormr, Atyr, and Serpentr. Their dark, cold sound, rooted in traditional black metal, continued to evolve with releases like Styggdom (2020) and Vandring (2021), completing their thematic "Black Death Trilogy." In 2023, Nattverd released their fourth album, I Helvetes Forakt, further solidifying their place in the Norwegian black metal scene. They recently started performing live and will make their first appearance at Inferno in 2025.
NEL BUIO
Nel Buio, meaning "In the Dark" in Italian, is a blackwave project formed in 2023 by Clod "the Ripper" De Rosa (Blasphemer, ex-Septycal Gorge). Blending black metal with 80s darkwave, the lineup includes Neil Grotti and Francesco Vellacifer (both from Electrocution and Blasphemer). Their debut self-titled EP, released through Avantgarde Music, explores themes of urban alienation, isolation, and the beauty found in decay. Nel Buio's dark, sorrowful sound offers a unique take on black metal, appealing to those who seek more than just fury in their music.
