Yesterday my best friend and ex-Evil Invaders guitarist Sam Lemmens passed away.
I'm devastated... He was like a brother to me. Our bond was very unique and every time I shared the stage with him, it was magical. Even after he left the band, he would join us on stage and play a few songs for some special occasions.
I'm so grateful to have had him in my life. He was a truly remarkable person and one of the few people in this world that still really gets what rock 'n' roll is all about.
I have countless great memories with him. Going from diving in bushes and pancake fights to playing insane shows all over the world. He never stopped being part of the Evil Invaders family and will be sorely missed 'till the day I die.
See you in the next life dude, we're not done yet...
Our hearts go out to his wife Lynn and his kids Xanne and Morriz.

"Gistermiddag, een paar uur na zijn operatie, kon zijn lichaam het gevecht niet meer aan." zo schrijft Up The Irons op social media. Eerder al waren er complicaties opgetreden na een vorige operatie, waardoor hij terug naar het ziekenhuis moest en de band de show in Terneuzen afgelopen weekend al had afgezegd. Sam is slechts 37 jaar oud geworden. (Metalfan.nl)

Echt ontzettend triestig, laat een vrouw en 2 jonge kindjes na.
Toont maar weer eens hoe onvoorspelbaar het leven kan zijn.
