Zojuist verschenen op Facebook. We mogen ons klaarmaken voor een veelbelovende week volgende week! Leuk concept ook voor het vierde podium. Ik heb er zin in, kom maar op.
Wondering why things have been so quiet on the Alcatraz front? It’s what is known as the quiet before the storm because next week we’ll be unleashing a string of new additions to the Alcatraz 2022 line-up five days in a row.
It all starts on Wednesday 13 October with ‘Wicked Wednesday’, followed by ‘Thrashing Thursday’, ‘Freaking Friday’, ‘Slamming Saturday’ and finally ‘Sonic Sunday’. As you’ve probably gathered by now, on each of these theme days we will announce bands from certain genres or spheres of influence.
The original plan was to introduce our fourth stage back in 2020 but this time it’s happening for real. Like the ‘La Morgue’ stage, the new marquee will also target a specific audience - or rather a different audience - every day. Just to lift a corner of the veil here are the theme names for the respective days: ‘The Cube’, ‘The Pit’ & ‘The Forest’.
Atmosphere has always been at the heart of our festival experience and Alcatraz 2022 will be no different. Next week we will reveal close to 90 of the total 110 bands that will perform at Alcatraz next year, including no fewer than 25 Belgian acts.

Ik kwam om exact dat te posten, maar ik had moeten weten dat ik zelden de snelste ben hier hahahaha
Toch mooi dat de manne van Alcatraz hier meelezen.
als we kijken wat er vorige keer geprogrammeerd stond maar niet kon doorgaan en wat er in 2022 in de buurt is ben ik trouwens vrij zeker van: testament, as i lay dying, phil anselmo, hatebreed, madball, life of agony, vio-lence, static x, exodus, death angel
within temptation, blind guardian, lamb of god, mercyful fate, limp bizkit zijn mijn gokjes voor de top van de affiche, ik vrees dat slipknot net iets te groot gegrepen lijkt en ik denk dat judas priest niet zal mogen overkomen van graspop.

weet niet hoe het tegenwoordig is, maar in 2016 werd Twisted Sister pas na Graspop aangekondigd als headliner, nadat ze dus eerst op Graspop speelden. Volgens mij hebben ze dat vaker gedaan
Maar zullen ze dat met EN mercyful fat EN judas priest doen?
ik weet ook dat graspop in 2016 not amused was omdat graspop normaal de laatste benelux show moest zijn, ik vermoed dus wel dat ze hun contracten voor headliners wat aangescherpt hebben.
Persoonlijk hoop ik toch echt van niet, beide geen acts die me heel erg interesseren. En er tourt genoeg wat wel een unieke boeking is. Een overlap artiest met Graspop zou niet nodig moeten zijn.
Een Blind Guardian en/of Avantasia zou tof zijn. Geen idee of Avantasia tourt, maar er komt wel een nieuw album aan natuurlijk.

AC DC doet helaas geen/nauwelijks festivals en is vele malen te groot voor Alcatraz.
Ik vind het dan wel raar dat ze op de evenementenpagina van alcatraz op facebook verwijzen naar ac/dc me we will be back in black. Ook staat er in de rock tribune van deze maand of vorige maand op de laatste pagina een afbeelding van safety jogger met de tekst for those about to rock, we salute you.
het kan natuurlijk ook wel gewoon puur toeval zijn.
