Ik verwacht er echt nog wel iets bij aan de bovenkant.. orde grootte Florence/ KOL.. voorgaande jaren had je rond 16/17u ook namen als inhaler, kiwanuka en Balthazar staan. Komen nog 60+ namen bij, daar gaat echt nog wel wat moois bij zitten
Moeilijk jaar voor boekingen of niet, bands als Royal Blood en Sum 41 of Yungblud tot sub promoveren enkele jaren na hun vorige passage waar ze een trede lager stonden gepland, is geen goeie look. Al zeker niet in het jaar waarin ze voor het eerst die 300 Euro overschrijden.
Ik verwacht ook niet al te veel, en vrees dat ze zich er, zoals wel vaker, weer makkelijk van af gaan maken, maar gevoelsmatig zouden daar nog dingen moeten bij komen. Een Kings of Leon of een Editors dat na die passage in de overvolle barn als goedmaker nog eens de main op gaat..
Van een festival dat er steeds prat op gaat bij de absolute wereldtop te horen, verwacht je gewoon nog iets sterk tussen Sum 41 en Måneskin, Avril en Dua en Royal Blood en Foo's. Of we dat ook gaan krijgen is een ander paar mouwen.
Ik zie dat The Struts op 22 juni op een festival in Frankrijk staan, dit zou ik ook wel een mooie boeking vinden. Iemand een idee of dit realistisch is?

Ik zie Kings of Leon vaak langskomen hier, hoe groot is de kans dat die op Rock Werchter komen? Lijkt me toch wel echt een hele vette toevoeging.
Tja jouw gok is even goed als de rest van ons hier. Zijn in de buurt, hebben eerder op RW gestaan dus de kans is zeker aanwezig. Een typische band voor wat extra dagopvulling.
Ja dit vooral hè. Als zo’n Greta Van Fleet, Royal Blood en, God forbit, Sum 41 subs blijken te zijn, dan is dat ik toch een pak lager dan wat we gewoon zijn van een festival die normaal strooit met headliners.
Als we nu zogezegd alle subs en coheads hebben, dan spreken we over het zwakste RW jaar qua main bovenkant sinds ik ga in 2007.
Ook al ben ik zelf wel erg tevreden met de namen die bekend zijn, ben ik het wel met je eens over deze opmerking. Dit is nog niet het niveau namen die we gewend zijn van Werchter. Ik reken daarom echt nog wel op wat toevoegingen voor de hoge plekken de komende 2 maanden.
Nog niets op het vasteland van Europa, maar dat kan nog komen natuurlijk. Zal waarschijnlijk eind juni Glastonbury aandoen.
Er waren geen tourplannen van Kings of Leon, tot ze een tijdje terug aankondigden dat ze op 4 juli een optreden op Silverstone doen. Als ze toch in Europa zijn is RW wel een logisch vervolg. Laatste keer was in 2017.
....die staat gewoon in een tent in Zottegem een week later, waar hij veel beter op zijn plek staat dan als sub op een major anno 2023.
Een verse update om het nieuwe jaar straks in te gaan. Sinds de vorige lijst relatief weinig nieuwe namen. Een aantal namen gepromoveerd naar 'Zeer waarschijnlijk' vanwege een passend tourschema. Er is nog een rijtje met Roskilde-namen die ook in aanmerking komen (naast Foo Fighters, PJ Harvey en Roisin Murphy die al dubbelen): Skrillex, Romy, Overmono, Blondshell, Heilung, Kali Uchis. Het gaat natuurlijk niet 100% overlappen, maar enkele van deze namen zullen nog wel overkomen.
