LKVGT will no longer be playing Roadburn.
Roadburn is a festival that is founded on community - we talk about it often, it’s part of who we are and what we do. We take it extremely seriously when people message us with concerns about what we’re doing at the festival. It often seems that Roadburn is held to a higher standard than other promoters, with larger expectations upon us - we take this as a compliment, and we take our duty of care to our community seriously and research bands thoroughly.
Building and participating in a community sometimes requires uncomfortable conversations as we hold each other to account and respond to each others’ needs and concerns. We believe that these conversations often require time and consideration to have fully, and as frustrating as it may be to not have an immediate answer from us, we are committed to being as thorough and considered as we possibly can be.
Over the last few days, we have had multiple informative conversations with LKVGT to give them a right of reply before we decided on taking any action. Based on these conversations we had the impression that their artistic reasoning and beliefs are contrary to what has been said about them this week. However, due to the sentiment that has risen in recent days, the band decided to no longer appear at Roadburn 2025.
