Ik zit vandaag 12 uur in de trein, dus heb tijd om een beetje bij te luisteren.
Wat zijn de hiphop albums van dit jaar?
Ik vind zelf:
- Vince Staples erg fijn
- Ik houd live van Kneecap, maar vind het niet echt muziek om rustig te luisteren
- Genesis Owusu is fantastisch (maar je kan discussiëren of het hiphop is)
- Gorillaz is ook heerlijk (maar je kan opnieuw discussiëren of het hiphop is)

Ik vind zelf:

Helemaal eens met Vince Staples, vind ik zijn beste album in jaren. Daarnaast nog andere favorieten: Baby Keem, Asap Rocky, Navy Blue, Isaiah Rashad, Sideshow
Voor mij een minder hiphop-jaar voorlopig. By Storm (My Ghosts Go Ghost) en Blu & Exil (Time Heals Everything) zijn mijn hoogtepunten.
Deze albums uit 2025 zijn ook zeker de moeite als je ze nog niet beluisterd hebt:
- Mckinley Dixon - Magic, Alive!

- John Michel & Anthony James - Egotrip
- Lausse the Cat - The Mocking Stars
Helemaal gemist dat Lausse the Cat een nieuw album had, terwijl ik die muziek normaal heel tof vind! Thanks!
Rico is een top hiphop album en met gebrek aan beter mijn favoriet van het jaar tot nu toe.
The Plot In You: een hoop nummers waren natuurlijk al even uit, maar wát een album zeg. Bijna elk nummer is raak. AOTY vooralsnog.
Ik snap dit helemaal, het album is mooi geproduceerd, maar Rico’s stem ligt mij niet zo goed. En ik hou in het algemeen niet zo van Nederlandse hiphop, enkele uitzonderingen daar gelaten.

Ja, vind 'm ook erg fijn. Ook echt een album-album.
Gek eigenlijk, hoeveel meer aandacht er ook is voor een nieuwe Strokes plaat ten opzichte van vroeger.
zo'n lijst en toch blijft er bitter weinig hangen (behalve hoe verschrikkelijk slecht een band kan worden, je zou er beroertes van krijgen)
In zijn geheel is de nieuwe Charli XCX toch wel prima. SS26 is echt wel een top 10 nummer van haar wat mij betreft. Nooit een fan geweest van de productie van A.G. Cook though...
Komt vooral ook doordat The New Abnormal ijzersterk was, zeker ten opzichte van de albums daarvoor.
Hadden nog wel 2 of 3 b-sides op gekund. Sommige daarvan klonken echt goed wmbt.
