ANNOUNCING FINAL READING & LEEDS 2016 HEADLINERS AND MORE
With our next announcement of 2016 co-headliners, we're making a UK festival first: Five festival headliners over three days.
Reading & Leeds weekend is already packed full of international heavyweights, and we can officially announce that two more will be joining their ranks: Biffy Clyro and Fall Out Boy. Unstoppable forces in alternative rock on both sides of the Atlantic, the two acts will take to the stage to co-headline an unforgettable night of heavy riffs and melodies.
Biffy Clyro stand as true Reading & Leeds originals, rising through the ranks over the last decade. Their full-throttle rock has propelled them to the top of festival bills around the world. With a new album in the works, and a nation of fans eagerly awaiting their next step, Biffy Clyro are destined to bring their explosive headline credentials for a truly monumental headlining performance.
Alt-rock kingpins Fall Out Boy have soundtracked the teenage dreams of fans around the globe. Their catalogue of unmistakable anthems laid the blueprint for a genre of their own, propping up the band as one of the most influential acts of the 21st Century.
On top of these rocking headliners, a raft of new names have been confirmed to appear across the bank holiday weekend. Synth-pop revelations Chvrches have taken the world by storm over the past three years, with two critically-acclaimed studio albums and a captivating live presence they'll be bringing to the stages of Reading & Leeds.
Also hitting the pitches will be The Vaccines, whose graduation to the major leagues of British indie has been staggering. They released three mammoth LPs in five years and secured their reputation as one of the most vital names of recent times.
A$AP Rocky is uncompromising and consistently pushing boundaries, earning himself two acclaimed collections of intoxicating records that drew universal acclaim from critics. His exclusive UK festival appearance at R&L will see the figurative crowning of the king of hip-hop.
The festival will be taken to the next level with Watford's finest Lower Than Atlantis, the primal tones of Sleeping With Sirens, Welsh reggae-rock titans Skindred, punk legend Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and heavy American icons Five Finger Death Punch and State Champs.
Joining them on stage will be indie-pop darlings HAIM, recent BRIT Award winner Jack Garratt, electro-pop band The Wombats, South African phenomenon Die Antwoord, and Kentucky psych-mixers Cage The Elephant.
Though we could continue to boast about all of the chart-shakers and hit-makers we're adding to the line up, there just isn't room to cover the 61 incredible artists joining the unprecedented five headliners – which includes previously announced Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foals and Disclosure.
