That's interesting. Muse also has only 3 dates announced yet, might be time for them to finally announce a proper tour.
Feels odd if the entire european festival world is waiting for volbeat, what a letdown that would be. But no clue what else it could be.
Deftones wouldn't be a headliner there would they? Maybe the 3rd spot on the other day that is still open? But seems like they're mostly doing popfestivals so far. With Korn I guess it would be odd to wait so long with the announcement.

Yep that's the idea. The expectation is that we're getting two bigger acts and some medium-sized stuff for the undercard today. In terms of headliners, no one really has a clue. Volbeat/Muse/Korn are the most obvious but again, it wouldn't be all that satisfying with Volbeat as the big announcement.
ACDC is inderdaad veel te groot, en daarbij staat mij bij dat ze erg veel moelijke eisen hebben.
Vind je het serieus zelf niet wat vroeg om over een time table te beginnen?
Anders gaan het 5 lange, pijnlijke maanden voor je worden...
Zou je niet op z'n minst eerst eens wachten tot überhaupt de line-up compleet is (en dan duurt het mogelijk nog 2 maanden)?

It all depends on what day and what spot. Had to look up the spotify monthly listeners of Volbeat and they are around Sleep Token/Alice Cooper territory. So if they are on a 'smaller' spot and there is still 1 big name to be pulled out of a hat it would make sense to wait for now.
Now if every other festival has booked either Muse or Linkin Park + Volbeat but GMM decides only Volbeat will be enough, that would be dissapointing.
Also, isn't Volbeat just seriously a 'yesterdays news' band at this point? With almost every headliner i can think of reasons to put them there, be it history, legacy, popularity, exclusivity etc. But Volbeat strikes me as the most boring band you could put on the bill as headliner.
I still like them. I would be happy to see them (for the first time). I would prefer it over Within Temptation for example
Volbeat is op Rock Am Ring en op Graspop gewoon een headliner, en geen kleine naam.
Volbeat is een perfect voorbeeld van waarom mensen zich niet zo blind moeten staren op spotify streams. Als Deense band zijn ze in de Benelux en in Duitsland gigantisch, terwijl ze bijvoorbeeld in de VS een stuk kleiner zijn. Ze verkopen meer tickets dan de meeste south stage headliners op Graspop.
Soms moet je je eigen mening over een band kunnen loskoppelen om objectief te kunnen zijn.
De vraag is of de modale bezoeker van Graspop op de hoogte is of wakker ligt van de reputatie van Falling In Reverse. Niet dat ik me boven de modale Graspopbezoeker wil plaatsen want zonder dit forum had ik nooit over hun fratsen gehoord. Hooguit dat ze regelmatig cancellen.
Volle zalen, nieuw album op komst, laatste doorkomst GMM 3 edities geleden, shitload aan hits, gateway band, hoezo geen redenen om ze te boeken?
Of je er zelf nu van houdt of niet, Volbeat is een volwaardige headliner waar je nu eenmaal niet om heen kunt.
Als we het over persoonlijke voorkeuren hebben, doe mij dan maar een Muse tour om 16:00 met RaR en Graspop erbij. Daar zou ik nou blij van worden.Same here but that doesn't say much to be fair
