They will have them but they also had them when they released the other 4 rubbish albums that this one is better than and disappeared up their own arses with some disco wearing glasses and UFO crap so the standards aren't hard to beat lol. Their best album since 2006, maybe 2009.....see where I got the 15 years from, it's actually 17 at least and for people who didn't rate The Resistane it's 19 years. I think I was quite generous with them.

Die mening mag je hebben. Ik vond The 2nd Law, Drones en Simulation Theory ook erg fijne albums. Alleen Will of the People viel me wat tegen.

Linksom of rechtsom een steengoede liveband, met een steengoede discografie, die veel volk naar het veld trekt. Die moet je niet laten lopen.

Muse 1 juli in Groningen en 2 juli in Werchter lijkt me wel een logische. 3 juli dagje pauze.

Wat mumford and sons dit afgelopen jaar hebben gedaan. Werkte prima voor hun.

Muse en Pearl Jam erbij op de affiche , Sam Fender als 2e grote ergens bij. Dan maakt het mij geen reet uit dat Noah Kahan ook komt: avondje Barn!


Idealiter nog een en/of van; Billie Eilish, The Strokes , QOTSA , the Strokes

Eigenlijk wel leuk dat de 2 al bekende namen beiden op dezelfde dag staan. Het laat nog zoooooveel keuze(lees: gissen) over! Ik ben razend benieuwd naar hoe de eerste stift op de do/vr/za komt morgen!

I saw how many metal bands, metal orientated we'll say have headlined the barn the same year as headlining or subbing every European Festival they are currently playing? The reason for the relevancy of it is because FNM ar probably taking higher spots that even expected this year. Sub/secone stage yes but no onr expected then to headline so many.

You can use a different criteria for any kinds of band that are bigger in any country than others etc but they are quite a niche act and on a 12 year reunion. Most the acts headlining the barn are playing 3rd down main. By the way I'm not saying that's not where FNM would or maybe should play there, I'm saying they'll be offered better elsewhere to stop them. Even their 2020 slot was still 3rd below two co-headliners and not one outright head and sub.

Mooie poging om de vraag te ontwijken. Jij hebt de criteria vastgesteld:
- een reunion
- van een metal(georiënteerde) band
- die op elk festival in de top twee staat en
- op Werchter derde laatste op de main of head in de barn was.

Mijn vraag is dan hoeveel bands er überhaupt aan de eerste drie criteria voldoen. Want als je die scherp genoeg zet, is het antwoord op de laatste vraag uiteraard altijd "geen" - en dan heb je altijd gelijk. Maar dan ben je ook niet bezig met een punt te bewijzen, maar enkel met gelijk hebben.

Ook met het theater zijn ze dat hoor.

Ik bedoel vooral dat dat theater vaker de voorgrond neemt en dat doet afbreuk aan wat ze kunnen brengen. Allee dat is toch mijn aanvoelen.

Ik heb de onvrede over Drones ook nooit echt begrepen. Reapers, the handler, psycho, mercy, the globalist.... Zonder twijfel mijn favoriet na Black holes & revelations

You are entitled to that opinion. I also found The 2nd Law, Drones, and Simulation Theory to be very enjoyable albums. Only Will of the People disappointed me a bit.

One way or another, a rock-solid live band with a rock-solid discography that draws a large crowd. You shouldn't let them slip away.

Likewise, you are entitled to like what you do, it's certainlky just my view will nor will yours be only you. They will never match the first 3 albums though, I could actually take Plug in Baby off the debut and stick in on one of the proceeding two and that is their gold. They need to play Butteflies and Hurricanes more and that's not just being stuck in old times, it's because it's a banger. One reason I'd see them is because of the cost of them in the UK. I'm almost staggered that RAR didnt book them this year though, thought that was a sure thing but with their heavier limiting direction I feel Muse don't fit.

Een van de vroegste festivaloptredens van mijn gen Z dochter was Muse in Arras tijdens die tour. Die is in tranen uitgebarsten tijdens de gitaarbrug van The Handler en heeft then en there beslist dat ze naast piano ook gitaar wou leren spelen. Dus yup...dat album was wel een specialleke. Die speelt nu vlotjes de gitaarlijn van Showbiz, dus thanks Matt.

The Globalist is echt ontzettend gaaf! Wat een werk!

Ja Muse is wel leuk, maar heb nooit echt de wow-factor. Altijd oerdegelijk en strak, maar ik mis vooral de connectie met het publiek en een stuk persoonlijkheid. De menselijkheid ontbreekt zeg maar....

Verleden jaren ging Werchter vaak van dag tot dag, donderdag richting zondag headliner of andersom, in die trend zouden we de zaterdag headliner te weten kunnen komen, wat dus Muse niet zal zijn. Ben benieuwd!

Mijn groep gaat inmiddels al een aantal jaren naar Primavera; onze ervaring is dat voor mensen 'op leeftijd' een city festival gewoon meer convenient is, overdag lekker genieten van de horeca in Barca en van 7 uur 's avond tot 3 uur 's nacht lekker bandjes kijken. Dat gezegd hebbende we zouden er wel redelijk de pest over in hebben als RW 'opeens' The Strokes zou hebben, m.i. een typische PS act en kan niet begrijpen dat ze die hebben laten lopen.......Dan misshien misschien toch maar een dagkaart RW kopen.........

Muse heeft vooralsnog alleen shows op 4 en 5 juli. Kleine kans dat ze Groningen op 3 juli spelen. Voor Werchter past dan gewoon 1 of 2 juli nog.
