Die set heb ik dan weer niet gezien vanwege de clash met Arcane Roots. Maar heb er wel heel goeie verhalen over gehoord.

Mooi wel, die kruisbestuivingen op de fijnproeversfestivals!

Vooral blij met Kulk die nieuwe plaat is een lekker bak sludgy noise-rock. Die Ian plaat is ook tof maar deed me toch een stuk minder. Wel een goede idee dat ze dit jaar de namen van ieder geval de eerste worp wat meer uitspreiden.

Dit, maar goed bij Roadburn zit het altijd wel snor als je gaat luisteren. Binnenkort maar weer een luister sessie doen voor deze namen.

Het wordt tijd voor een bak met nieuwe namen! Blij met deze twee namen, maar het is altijd fijn als weer 10-20 namen komen waarvan je 80% niet kent en de hele dag alles kan checken!

IAN heeft wat AmenRa vibes, maar meer trek de rustigere stukken van IAN een stuk beter. Ben dan ook wel AmenRa-moe.

Een betaalde Grand Opening met 16 Horsepower naast het gratis blijvende The Spark. Dacht eerst even dat het een gemiste kans was, maar er is dus over nagedacht.

Long-time Roadburners will remember the Afterburner: a separate but related event that kept things going on the Sunday after the main Roadburn programme. As Roadburn evolved into the four-day festival we know today, the Afterburner became part of our history – but the idea of creating something distinct around the festival never left us. Over the years, we started dreaming about turning that idea around: what if we created something special to kick it all off?

In collaboration with 013, we’re proud to co-host The Grand Opening of Roadburn 2027 with a 16 Horsepower performance at 013.

When 013 had the opportunity to book 16 Horsepower on the Wednesday before Roadburn, we simply had to jump at the chance to join forces to make something special happen. 16 Horsepower have been at the top of our wishlists for as long as we can remember, their music pivotal to so much of what the festival has grown to embrace. While our paths with David Eugene Edwards have crossed several times – through Wovenhand appearances, including that legendary 2011 show, and his unforgettable solo performance – 16 Horsepower themselves have always remained out of reach. To finally welcome them to Tilburg under the Roadburn banner feels like a big piece of our own history falling into place. A long-held dream, finally coming true.

This show requires a separate ticket. Because of the close connection between 013 and Roadburn, we’re happy to make sure our community gets the first opportunity to be part of this special night. At the same time, The Spark will be happening at the Next Stage as always – free and open to everyone, whether you have a Roadburn ticket or not. It remains our traditional Wednesday gathering, when our community starts to arrive and come together in Tilburg. Whether you’re rocking out to 16 Horsepower or getting your party started at The Spark, we’ll see you in Tilburg on Wednesday, April 14. Wherever you are, that’s where Roadburn 2027 begins.

Mooi dat ze hier ook gewoon eerlijk over zijn dat het anders te duur was geweest en het toch zo lukt. Ik ben er ieder geval heel blij mee echt wel een band die gigantisch hoog op mijn lijstje staat om te zien en pas recent weer een reunie hebben.

Vind het wederom een magistrale actie, is gewoon supertof toch zo'n concert voor Roadburn?

Ben echt heeeel benieuwd naar de rest van de lineup op basis van wat ze nu al droppen.

Nieuwe naam: Violencia.

We’ve been paying close attention to the resurgence of powerviolence and its neighbouring hardcore subgenres around the world – and we’re excited to keep following those threads into places they might not always lead us to.

Hailing from Tijuana, Mexico, Violencia bring their own forceful take on the genre, channelling their rage into a powerviolence-led sonic mix – they call it “radical hardcore Tijuanense” and we’re fine with that description! Their Spanish lyrics take aim at the state of the world around us - always the chief inspiration for this kind of music – drawing on the anger and unease of living in it right now. It’s intense, unfiltered and utterly compelling.

We can’t wait to welcome them to Roadburn 2027. Get ready!

Vette band, lekker recht toe aan crusty powerviolence.
