I don't see it necessarily as the best thing but 20 years doesn't alter the point you've picked one non rock act out after a big rock act for Werchter has been announced and likely a rock act tomorrow. They are still booking acts to headline they did years ago
You may just be a troll desperately seeking attention through provocation, but usually, there’s a rather broken soul behind that. So, out of pity, I’ll help you out before you make a complete fool of yourself here:
Rock Werchter is no more a strictly "rock" festival than Pinkpop is a "pop" festival—just because "pop" happens to be in the name. Werchter has always distinguished itself through a bold mix of genres, which has created its own unique atmosphere and the characteristic Werchter audience. Your argument is simply foolish, given that electronic/DJ sets, pop, hip-hop/rap, R&B/soul/funk, jazz, reggae/world music, as well as singer-songwriter and folk acts, have always been an integral part of Werchter (strictly speaking, from the very beginning, but certainly since the 2000s). Then there are the gray areas—indie/alternative-pop bands, synth-pop, art-pop, and crossover acts—alongside rock, metal, punk, and indie-rock...
Trying to categorize things as either "rock" or "non-rock" is therefore a pointless exercise. But by all means, have fun trying to fit the following acts into your obviously very simplistic worldview of music and subjecting them to a "rock vs. non-rock" logic.
