Rock Werchter 2027

This was also linked to the fact that both festivals start ticket sales at almost the same time.
It's also linked to him saying some days ago Billie at Pinkpop would be a miracle. They shared two headliners this year and went on sale 8 days apart from each other. Talk about moving posts because suddenly your thinking angle works lol.

- Tame: trendy
- Muse: allemans vriend ( behalve de mijne)
- Sombr: pop toekomst met randje
- angèle: grote aaifactor
- BE : absolute top
- Strokes: nostalgie zoals the cure

( Placebo, Jason Issbels, National, death cab, PJ, Jack White,…)

I don't see it necessarily as the best thing but 20 years doesn't alter the point you've picked one non rock act out after a big rock act for Werchter has been announced and likely a rock act tomorrow. They are still booking acts to headline they did years ago
You may just be a troll desperately seeking attention through provocation, but usually, there’s a rather broken soul behind that. So, out of pity, I’ll help you out before you make a complete fool of yourself here:

Rock Werchter is no more a strictly "rock" festival than Pinkpop is a "pop" festival—just because "pop" happens to be in the name. Werchter has always distinguished itself through a bold mix of genres, which has created its own unique atmosphere and the characteristic Werchter audience. Your argument is simply foolish, given that electronic/DJ sets, pop, hip-hop/rap, R&B/soul/funk, jazz, reggae/world music, as well as singer-songwriter and folk acts, have always been an integral part of Werchter (strictly speaking, from the very beginning, but certainly since the 2000s). Then there are the gray areas—indie/alternative-pop bands, synth-pop, art-pop, and crossover acts—alongside rock, metal, punk, and indie-rock...

Trying to categorize things as either "rock" or "non-rock" is therefore a pointless exercise. But by all means, have fun trying to fit the following acts into your obviously very simplistic worldview of music and subjecting them to a "rock vs. non-rock" logic.

Is it possible like yesterday they did a 10am announcement cus Angele announced , they are waiting for Sam Fender to announce ( possibly today )

I don’t think it was really Werchters choice/preferable to announce yesterday really. Angele was clearly announcing the rest of her gigs and that was just within it.

Do hope I’m wrong but wouldn’t be surprising if this week was all about Grasspop

This is a very old trauma of mine: back in 1999, I arrived at the festival grounds to see the Manic Street Preachers, only to find a drum kit with "RW" on it sitting on the stage (the MSP had cancelled). At that time, however, the festival’s official abbreviation was still "tw." ;-)

2023 met RHCP denk ik? Die kwamen pas in december toen

I got bored of you must be a troll, after that I'm not interested but well done and carry on.
I've been on this forum for quite a few years and hold @jimmywe in high regard!! I'll leave it at that.

What does the post have to do with not thinking highly of Jimmy?, in fact what does it have to do with Jimmy?
The comment replied to festibob commenting saying any of U2, PJ and Billie would be a miracle previously and now suggesting that Billie being announced next Monday to co-incide with Werchter is waiting to happen basically. It's nothing to do with what Jimmy has said. I am fully aware Jimmy is in the know, has a clue and is likely to be talking about The Strokes as this act from people's responses here. I very rarely go against what the top INK/almost board leader like people mention if you like as without them these places would not stand the test. A heads up is invaluable. Differing views of acts and opinions though is another thing entirely and just subjective views.
Hopefully that clears it up.
