2013 was een erg bizar jaar qua pakketjes he. Weet nog dat ze dat jaar op eind maart (!) nog met een pakketje kwamen waar Frank Ocean, The National, Nick Cave in zaten.

Dat jaar was gewoon bizar stacked ook. Niet normaal. Denk misschien (samen met Pinkpop 2014) wel de beste affiche waar ik ooit bij ben geweest
Was nochtans erg ontgoocheld over eerste pakket eind januari toen. Met o.a. Netsky die op de radio toen mocht verkondigen dat hij de donderdag zou afsluiten.
Is daarna ruim goed gemaakt.
Nochtans was die liveshow van Netsky fantastisch. Allé of zo herinner ik mij die toch.
Natuurlijk wel goede artiesten die pas later echt geexplodeerd zijn. Cave verkocht toen geen Sportpaleizen, The National had Bloodbuzz Ohio qua airplay om het cru te stellen (en dit was de laatste keer he dat ze er stonden
). En Netsky was toen natuurlijk op zen grootst. Goede evoluties dus 
Ja da's waar, maar ook toen stonden die 3 op hoge posities. The National was wel gewoon subhead hé, Nick Cave toen soort-van (moest sub zijn maar werd last minute gedraaid met Volbeat om te overbruggen met Rammstein of zoiets), Frank Ocean sloot toen ook al de Barn af.Natuurlijk wel goede artiesten die pas later echt geexplodeerd zijn. Namen voor zulke posities te krijgen in zowat je laatste pakketje, dat komt toch niet meer voor.
The Slope is natuurlijk het lastigste om te voorspellen (want veelal nieuwe namen), maar toch zijn 17 van de 24 namen van afgelopen maandag al eerder genoemd op het forum (vorig jaar waren dat er 11 van de 24).
Het doek viel deze week voor een aantal waarschijnlijke namen. Daar stond tegenover dat twee artiesten zichzelf alvast bevestigd hebben (Cory Wong en Harry Mack). Nog geen garantie dat ze komen, zo had letlive bij de vorige editie aangekondigd dat ze op RW zouden staan en waren ze uiteindelijk niet op de affiche te bekennen.

Zaten wel een aantal opmerkelijke verhaallijnen in dat jaar:
- we kregen al heel vroeg headliners, Rammstein als eerste eind september. Volbeat als laatste begin november, en toen bleef het maanden stil...
- tot Herman begin januari, op Eurosonic, loste dat RW Alt-J en Of Monsters & Men had, als reactie op het nieuwe festival BKS... verder zei hij dat het nog tot eind januari wachten was op een pakket want: "we moeten dat goed en grondig voorbereiden"
- eind januari eindelijk dat pakket dus, waar volop Netsky werd uitgelicht, die stond er op herhaling want in 2012 was hij er ook
- waanzinnig pakket dan tijdens krokus en dan weer weken wachten
- pakket net voor de paasvakantie waarin duidelijk werd waarom we zolang moesten wachten: The National die er toch stonden (niet gepland, want gingen normaal niet touren die periode, ermee ook 2 shows in Koninklijk Circus week ervoor aangekondigd, maar een gezamenlijk offensief van Roskilde en RW werpte toch zijn vruchten af), Volbeat die opschoven naar zaterdag en brug moesten vormen tussen Cave en Rammstein. Cave hadden we ook niet meer verwacht want die had dag ervoor of erna show in Rusland. En natuurlijk de Frank Ocean package deal. Die iedereen mocht meenemen dat hij wou naar de Barn die dag, zodat ze hem zeker konden strikken...
Show dat me meest is bijgebleven dat jaar was een meesterlijk Depeche Mode. Die speelden iedereen naar huis.
Ik herinner me dat ik met een vriendin van me (ontzettend groot DnB & moshpit dan) in de circle stond en dat ze beteuterd terug kwam met dat er mensen niet wilden moshenNochtans was die liveshow van Netsky fantastisch. Allé of zo herinner ik mij die toch.

Dat was een aanname door de zelfbevestigingen, meestal is er dan iets aanstaande. Maar ik denk wel niet dat ze de wind uit de zeilen van PKP gaan halen.
Vorig jaar had je een zelfbevestiging en duurde het 8 dagen voor er een pakket kwam.
Of Werchter wil juist nog een aantrekkelijk pakketje achter de hand houden voor als de BTW verhoging is ingegaan?
Denk dat ze die namen vooral gaan willen koppelen met het nieuws van de nieuwe prijs. Denk niet dat ze dat zo los de wereld inslingeren, maar graag als 'PS' hangen onder een 'goed nieuws bericht'.
