Het album van Computer luisterde vlot weg en deed me wat denken aan IDLES, Squid, shame, etc. Klopt dat met het vermelde genre van de postpunk? Ben echt niet thuis daarin The Besnard Lakes was nog meer mijn ding en deed me heel erg denken aan Tame Impala. Is dat dan door de shoegaze in het album of de indierock?

Ik loop duidelijk achter, maar ontdek zojuist BODIES van Thornhill. Mijn hemel wat is dit goed zeg, gaat heel hoog eindigen in de AOTY lijst. En die nieuwe single Mercia is ook gelijk weer raak, beetje Deftones vibe krijg ik ervan.

Daarnaast per toeval bij House Of Protection - Outrun You All terecht gekomen en ook deze is echt heel dik.

Edit: zie nu dat Jordan Fish componeert/produceert voor House of Protection. Als groot BMTH fan niet zo verwonderlijk dat ik die dus zo tof vind.

Deze was nog niet voorbij gekomen geloof ik: de drummer van Jungle By Night, Tienson, heeft zijn debuutalbum uitgebracht. Staan fijne nummers op en leuke tekstvondsten. Vooral van Wind in de Zeilen krijg ik geen genoeg.

Na een snelle luisterbeurt doorheen bovengenoemde releases blijven voorlopig enkel Bloodsports & Monkeys on Mars over.

De rest is nogal "a copy of a copy of a... " of gewoon niet mijn ding

Op de valreep nog effe voorrang voor Carved Into the Sun - Silent Tower (Instrumental Post-Rock, Post-Metal - 10 oktober):

Een van de beste releases van dit jaar komt morgen uit, was gisteravond al via een listening party te luisteren op Bandcamp en sinds een paar uurtjes op Youtube: A Sleeping City van An Abstract Illusion. Ze worden omschreven als Atmospheric & Progressive Black/Death Metal, maar voor mijn gevoel dekt dat niet de lading als je muziek van deze band daadwerkelijk luistert. Het is zéker progressief; een mengelmoes van allerlei stijlen en soundscapes. Maar voor mijn gevoel altijd in balans en 'smooth' in zijn transities. Zeker het luisteren waard als je van bands als Ne Obliviscaris, Opeth en Blood Incantation houdt, om er een paar te noemen.

Al weken aan het uitkijken naar de nieuwe Tame Impala en Last Dinner Party. Als ik er tijd voor vind ook even luisteren naar de nieuwe Living Hour en the Big Idea.
