Under the motto "Presented by Wacken Foundation," things get straight to the hardcore on Tuesday, July 29th! The evening is supported by the Wacken Foundation, and bands like Broken Fate (in cooperation with the Greenfield Foundation), the deathcore band Call of Charon, the thrashers Extinct, and the Essen hardcore metallers The Narrator will rock the stage.
The program for Thursday, July 31st, has also been confirmed: 2 Seas - 1 Scene! This stands for North German bands and local heroes who haunt the soil between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
The line-up includes the rock combo V4A from Puls, the Kiel-based death thrashers Kilt, the nu-metallers BraZing Bull, and the Kiel based hardcore band Tyson.

Tromsø World (NO) komt met Efterklang (dacht de vorige keer dat het alleen een film was, maar ze treden ook daadwerkelijk op als openingsconcert), Johanna-Adele Jüssi Trio, ŠLOBBOTEN, Britt Eva Løkkemo & Marit Sandvik (die het Portugese Fado op z'n Noord-Noors gaan brengen), Pumpegris, Mie Bergh en Leyla McCalla.

Way Out West (SE) heeft wat namen aangekondigd en dat versterkt de line-up nog eens wat verder. Eerst R&B/hip-hop, etc. en daarna tien namen voor het programma van Stay Out West.

Boom bap is back, and it’s largely thanks to Buffalo rapper Westside Gunn and his influential label and collective, Griselda Records. For over two decades, they have breathed new life into the gritty, raw yet soulful productions popularized in the ’90s by producers like RZA and DJ Premier, bringing them straight into the present.
When Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and Talib Kweli released the album Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star in 1998, it marked the beginning of a radical shift in hip-hop culture. The lyrical, political, jazzy underground rap was no longer just the domain of backpack-wearing men in basements—it became a potent cultural force.
Seun Kuti is the youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. He has spent most of his life preserving and further developing his father’s political and musical legacy as the leader of Fela’s former band, Egypt 80. In 1997, when Fela passed away, Seun—according to his father’s wishes—took over as leader of Egypt 80 and has led the band ever since.
On top of this, we’re also adding the ever-relevant Cherrie, album-releasing Mwuana, chart-topping Dizzy, hip-hop poet Erik Lundin, and local heroes Josef Slunge and Venus Anon.
Today, the lineup expands with ten more acts, all of whom will perform at Stay Out West—the club program that kicks off when the main festival area in Slottsskogen closes for the night. Stay Out West is the place where the hottest newcomers share stages with established artists delivering intimate performances. In the first category, you’ll find EP-releasing Isak Benjamin, the US-hyped Horse Vision, and Nottingham-based indie rockers Girlband!. In the second, names like Alan Sparhawk—one half of the slowcore band Low—indie veteran Cassandra Jenkins, who’s been going solo for a few years now, and Talaboman—the acclaimed collaboration between producers John Talabot and Axel Boman.
ArcTanGent (VK) moest nog met de laatste headliner komen. Uiteindelijk is de keuze gevallen op Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Notodden Blues Festival (NO) kondigt nog even op hun dooie gemak Little Feat aan.
Vaulen Open Air (NO) kondigt een nieuw podium aan met nieuwe namen.
Stavanger Rock Fest (NO) heeft Leprous aangekondigd als headliner. Dat is echt een heel nette line-up, zeg!
Oslo World (NO) kondigt een lijpe combinatie aan van Ali Sethi & Nicolás Jaar en verder nog Mary Halvorson Amaryllis Sextet (ook tof), Xavi Torres Trio (ook fijn), Cimafunk, Indus en Los Wembler's de Iquitos. Hakim geeft op 26 oktober het openingsconcert.
Oslo Jazz (NO) heeft ook namen aangekondigd. Mona Krogstad Quartet, Tuva Halse Quintet, Stella & the Longos, Bankvelv, Jasmine Myra en Harald Lassen Balans.
